Bolton Open golf club is located in the vast, spectacular countryside, remarkably
only minutes' drive outside Bolton. The beautiful rolling fairways and surrounding
Lancashire Hills provide a jaw-dropping background for this challenging, well-designed,
eighteen-hole course. With hole lengths ranging from 110 yards to 530, golfers can
be sure of a round to test all the contents of their club-bag.
The mature trees and part woodland aspect of the course add a little more difficulty
to successfully navigating the course as shots can get lost or lose velocity amongst
the trees if they are so much as slightly wayward.
The club also benefits from a driving range, fabulous clubhouse, a pro shop, function
suite and a bar making a warm, friendly environment for visitors.
Members enjoy the varied social activities with a monthly social, which is different
every month, from cabaret to casino; murder mysteries to themed dine-ins, as well
as a variety of unofficial social events and competitions. Bad weather never discourages
our golfers and when they have enjoyed their round of golf, they adjourn to the
clubhouse for refreshments, followed by a game of snooker or bowls, or just to enjoy
the company of like-minded fanatics.
By the beginning of April 2003, refurbishing and redevelopment of the changing accommodation
is planned to further enhance the status of the Club We currently have a limited
number of vacancies for members. To join you do not necessarily need to be sponsored,
we will accept members on interview.
